Open Competition for points
Rikki and Lilly are St. Bernards from Andover Mn. They are veteran pullers and gentle, sweet dogs. Their owners help novices get started in the sport.
Each dog is weighed before the pull starts. This determines which class it will pull in. Depending on which organization is putting on the pull the classes can run from 5# on up.
If a platform scale is not available the dogs are weighed by placing them in a sling hanging from a scale. They are then pulled up in the air to get their actual weight. Sometimes the weigh in is as entertaining as the actual pull.
